For our upcoming meeting I would like us to focus on Alexandrines. Firstly an Alexandrine is a metrical line of poetry written in iambic hexameter which consists of approximately twelve syllables.
Our key focus points for next month's meeting will be as follows:
1. Read over constructive examples of  and discuss Alexandrines
2. Engage in 10 minutes of free writing.
3. Reveal what you were thinking by reading in turns.
4. Practice writing a single Alexandrine (twelve syllables)
5. Engage in poetry writing prompts and construct poems entirely from Alexandrines
6. Read, analyze, discuss, edit.
P.S. Bring some of your own work to read it will be fun and an excellent way to connect! Also bring some poetry by your favorite author that we can analyze and discuss as a group. It is always fun interpreting the meanings of poems. :)
See you there!
